  It is not worth it to go with any one site without doing your research first. You should consider going to a website like http://www.hostgumbo.com … they have an up to date pricing and features comparison chart for the top 2009 web hosts. The site is free to use and they also run really cool promotions and giveaways. hey just paid for the first 3 months for my hosting with HostGator, but they will pay for the first 3 months of your hosting no matter which one of their advertised hosts you decide to use!

  I suggest you also do the following:

  1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostinggeeks or web-hosting-top.com and list down about 3 common top hosting companies.

  2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories.

  3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.

  You can start with Fatcow, Webfaction, Stablehost and Justhost.
