Is there a free registration of domain name, at the same time, being given free web hosting?
I just want to know the sites that cater to such services of free domain registration as well as free web hosting which would really help a starter like me.
Answer:
There are no legitimate sites that give away free domain names. However, there are sites that offer free domain hosting, but most likely you’ll have restrictions. (Ads, etc.)
If you’re a starter, it’s best just to settle on a freeserver like Geocities or Freewebs until you can purchase your own domain name. In my opinion, I don’t think a person should own a domain unless they can make their own graphics, code their own html/whatever, and learn how to use a FTP program.

Where do i login for my email if i bought a domain & web hosting?
eva@mysite.com
Where do i configure that? Or is that something i consult to my web host? Or my domain host, go daddy?
Answer:
It really depends on who you’re hosted with.
For example, I’m hosted with http://www.hostmonsterplus.com
So I would use http://mail.mysite.com to get my webmail.
For their POP services for Outlook Express it’s also mail.mysite.comBut as I said it’s different for every host.

What is the best web hosting service for a personal website?
I have recently been intrested in making a good website and I’ve been searching for good web hosting services. So I was wondering what would be a good option?
Considerations:
Windows XP compatible
no advertisements
get a *.com domain
cheap!
Microsoft Frontpage extention support
CGI script support———————–
Thank you for you feedback, it will really help be find the proper services I require.
Answer:
If you want your own domain for cheap (free)…Microsoft Office Live offers a free domain. By offering this free domain they are hoping to snag a large market share since nobody else offers a free domain. It will require a credit card for verification and they will put a logo on your site, but hey it’s free! (They also have an upgrade option if you want to purchase).
BTW – If you want to actually purchase a domain I would recommend http://www.godaddy.com

I have applied for two domain names and one web hosting, can i create two websites?
Can I make one website for each domain name for both web addresses from the same web hosting service?
Answer:
Depends. If your webhost uses cpanel (most webhosts do) you can set addon domains IF and only if the webhost allows. They have the power to turn this feature off if they want you to pay for an additional hosting package for extra domains. For example: My hosting company is siteground. They don’t allow addon domains in cpanel.
On the other hand, if you want to set both domain names to go to the same website, this is done using “parked domains”. This is almost always available with web hosts using cpanel.

Which is the best free web hosting site in the world?
I have tried google pages ( now google sites) and NOT very happy with it. It would be better if I get a domain name but not at the cost of web space and bandwidth.
Answer:
If they are free they are all bad and you can’t really complain about them being bad.
I use http://www.ixwebhosting-unlimited-pro.moneysavecenter.com?id=m3y227 so far so good.
I also started up with these a while back http://webhosting.moneysavecenter.com/byet as they were only .88 USD Annually (with a Free Domain) and then I moved on to their VPS.
Both of them are quite good. -
What will happen if your web hosting company goes burst?
I want to have the own domain for my blog, so I plan to use a webhosting company like bluehost. However, I wonder what will happen to my blog, if one day the hosting company doesn’t function anymore. Will I lose all my entries?
Answer:
If the hosting company is experiencing server maintenance, you may not be able to access your blog for a stipulated time. However, if your hosting company gets busted, then you will lose all your entries. It is advisable to make a backup of all your posts once in while. If you’re going to make your site primarily a blog, then I personally recommend WordPress. Check with your host’s site what they provide before signing up. Most hosts come with WordPress included. You just need to do a simple configuration to get it started once you get the host. All about WordPress here at http://wordpress.org/
If you use WordPress, it has a function built in where it will allow you to make a full backup of your blog and convert it to something like a XML file. If you have a last known copy of this backup file made, if one day your hosting server dies on you, you can easily get a new host and just import this file and all the saved entries will be retained. Hope that answers your question.
Since you’re on the topic of hosting, Bluehost is good but Hostgator is where I’d look at. If you visit their site at http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=bloodbro6 and choose the Baby plan and enter the coupon code ‘jury’ without the codes, you will only pay .01 for the first month and thereafter .95 a month. They offer 600GB space and 6000GB bandwidth. It comes with the standard cPanel and Fantastico where you can install your secure store, discussion boards, blogs, emails, etc. Good luck on your blog!
