Where do i login for my email if i bought a domain & web hosting?
eva@mysite.com
Where do i configure that? Or is that something i consult to my web host? Or my domain host, go daddy?
Answer:
It really depends on who you’re hosted with.
For example, I’m hosted with http://www.hostmonsterplus.com
So I would use http://mail.mysite.com to get my webmail.
For their POP services for Outlook Express it’s also mail.mysite.comBut as I said it’s different for every host.

What is the best web hosting to use for a startup finance related site?
I could have bursts of traffic here and there – I don’t plan on a lot of traffic right off the bat, but there is the possibility that I will get a lot of traffic at random times and stuff. So what is the best hosting plan for me? (note money is an issue, but I also want the flexibility of a solid plan)
Answer:
If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months’ time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.
I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.
Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/
They offer hosting of “unlimited domains” and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge .95/month and they offer “a free Domain Name” and installing service called “Fantastico”. By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer “Free Website Builder” as well.
Visit the site to check details.Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/
Domains
Following site is quite good to register domains as price is reasonable with free privacy. Some charge about / year just for free privacy.IPOWER http://www.anurl.com/?TXIBE

Free web hosting for a school project?
I need to make a website for a school project, what’s a good free web host that I can use? Pros and cons would be nice.
Answer:
I recommend VlexoFree.
Pros: It’s free. Completely free! There is a /month plan, but that leads me to my next point; There are tons, and I mean tons, of features for free (see here: http://vlexofree.com/wiki/Features ). Compared to others, they can’t hold a candle to the amount of features. It’s also extremely reliable and trustworthy. It’s Linux. You also get lots of space.
Cons: If you don’t log into the account for 20-30 days, your site may get suspended and eventually deleted. That happens with a lot of hosts, though, but still. You have to answer some interview questions and be approved. It’s very easy, though, but is a pain if you have to get something up quickly.

What type of features should the web hosting service have?
I’m trying to figure out the best route for my hypothetical online t-shirt shop. (It’s an assignment).
I’m trying to figure out which hosting would be best. What type of features do you think I’d need?
And would I need linux or windows? Why would I need windows? Why would I need to use SQL?
Answer:
Hi,
When choosing a web host it’s of course important to consider the cost (some hosting can be very expensive) but here are some other important things you should take into consideration too:
Web Hosting Space: Some web hosts will only give you 500MB or so of space. This could be a concern if you are looking at creating large websites.
Bandwidth: Some web hosts will severely limit the bandwidth you can use before you incur extra charges.
Uptime: There’s no point in having a website if people can’t see it. Does your web host offer at least a 99% uptime guarantee?
Number of websites allowed: If you’re looking to host more than one website on your account, will your web host charge you more to do this?
Support: If you have any problems you need to be able to contact your web host quickly and easily to get the problem sorted.
I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they’re very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I’ll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support. You can find them at http://www.webhostgator.info

How do I transfer current joomla files over to yahoo web hosting?
I am currently using the joomla 30 day demo trial. How do I transfer the files that I already made on the demo site to my yahoo hosting account? All my files are in the back-end editor and I am not sure how to transfer them to my host site. Please help this neophyte joomla user!!!
I am using the 30 day trial off joomla.org, sponsored by cloudaccess.Answer:
Joomla doesn’t have a 30 day trial. It’s free to begin with. You probably have a 30 day trial on some hosting service.
To move Joomla from one hosting to another one I recommend using Akeeba backup extension. It will save you a lot of time. It allows you to back up complete Joomla install (including files and database) on one server and restore them on a new one. It will take care of all directory re-mappings etc. Otherwise, if you do it manually over FTP you may end up with non-working install until you tweak all directories etc.
Good luck. -

Can I rent out some of my web hosting space if I don’t have a reseller account?
I’d like to offer my clients web space to go with their web page as a way to raise a little more money for myself and to be able to pay off my yearly bill. Is this legal?
Answer:
Legal, maybe. The bigger question is will YOUR host allow it? Unless you host the space on servers YOU own, you probably can’t do this.

How to find a good web hosting company?
I am facing a lot of problems with my current hosting company so please let me know how I can find a reliable hosting company.
Answer:
First, figure out what features your website needs the most. Is it ASP.NET? Do want a dedicated IP address? Are you running shopping cart applications and need fast databases?
Then, go to this website, and find the host that is the highest rated for your biggest need –
